The sun came up today to a propane delivery and our combine headed for the field.  Our propane retailer has had his allotment of propane from the Sanborn, Iowa distribution center cut again.  This was not acceptable.  A new propane distributor was found and now the trucks are rolling in with propane from Kansas City.  They will supply him with all we need in this area.  It’s great to have a retailer who does what he has to do to keep his customers happy.

Yesterday’s rain totaled one tenth of an inch.  A very small amount in normal times, but these are not normal times.  It was interesting to see the puddles of water sitting on the fallen corn leaves.  The corn plants were soaking wet until the sun hit them, they dried off quickly.

We’re starting to wonder where to put the corn.  I’ve already delivered more corn to town than I usually do and am looking at rapidly filling bins.  The corn harvest is good and the yields keep getting better as we reach fuller season varieties.  It’s a wonderful problem.
