Harvest slow down

We did get some corn harvested this morning before the drizzle made things wet.  We could have kept going but corn was sticking to everything.  The high humidity also slowed down the dryer speed as it has to dry the air before it dries the corn.  It’s better to wait for some drier conditions.  The wet holding bin was full and the dryer can go for a few hours yet before it shuts down.

We were out of propane for a few hours last night.  Not as bad as it could have been.  We were at a point where we had to empty the wet holding bin and switch over from drying the landlords share on one farm.  When the propane came this morning we were already harvesting the next field.

With the shut down came time to get into town and do a few things.  The wet, dreary weather will also give me a chance to catch up on some sleep.  We’ll get things all set up for a “hard at it” day tomorrow.
