Christmas is almost upon us. For many years now I’ve been troubled by how commercial Christmas has become. The rush for gifts, the hectic life of shopping for things that others really don’t need. Why do we do it? Do we really believe those we love need those things so that they will love us?

Today in church I was asked to join the Advent Conspiracy. I liked the idea. What we are to do is take a gift from under the tree take it back and use the money to help those in the world who really need it. You really need to check out <http://www.adventconspiracy.org/> The fact is we can all make a difference this Christmas if we give more presence and less presents.
