Through the years I have come to appreciate its short wheel base and compact style, but it has a few other problems we will not go into. This year we got a new bus management group and they decided to fix it up. I can tell you that they did a major amount of work on the bus that included nearly tearing it apart and then fixing anything that needed fixing. Rusty areas were either replaced, or buffed out and repainted. Access panels that would not open or stay closed now have new latches. Torn seats have been replaced. I have no doubt that it will pass inspection. It looks good, but it is still an old bus.
So as the old saying goes, “You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.” In this case, you can put a new coat of paint on an old bus, but it is still an old bus.
