On the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” of 1918 an armistice was signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at CompiègneFrance, for the cessation of hostilities.  This was for many years known as Armistice Day, but since 1978 has been observed on November 11 as Veterans Day.1463151_10152056183759603_1435942948_n

This morning I joined the local veterans at the school where we celebrated with speeches, band music and children singing.  Although I am not a veteran, I have many family and friends who either have served or are currently serving.

Yes, I went back to other jobs in the afternoon, but on this the 11th day of the 30 day challenge, I spent the morning honoring those who have dedicated their lives to the service of our country.
