A blaze of springtime glory

Spring seems to finally be here, at least it is according to the trees and plants that have been waiting for warmer weather to bloom.100_2650Our flowering crab is in it’s glory, birds are nesting, some birds even are hatching, our cat has a litter of kittens, it must be spring, finally.

This has been a trying spring.  The long drawn out cold has kept me wondering if spring would arrive.  The cold and a series of rain showers held planting back.  We finished planting corn on the 10th of May and now finished planting soybeans on the 21st of May.  Many of the earliest corn fields have started to emerge with those planted in the first 5 days of May catching up to those planted in April.  This warmer weather should get the rest of them popping out.  Here’s to Spring!  I hope you are here to stay.
